Founded in 1963, the Centene Center for the Arts & Education has raised and distributed more than $100 million in 51 years for area arts and arts education programs. One of the four original board members was Malcolm W. Martin. It has hosted hundreds of arts events and activities in the last ten years. The gothic-like building it is located in was built in 1906. The Centene Center moved there in 2002, and the building was renovated two years later.

Where is the cake now?: The cake sold in the biddingforgood auction for $406 on 1/1/2015.

Notes: The cake’s artist, Emily Cross, was a junior at Rosati-Kain High School at the time of painting the cake. She is the sister of cake artist Sarah Cross and daughter of multi-cake artist Andy Cross.
