Shakespeare Festival St. Louis is a non-profit theater company with a mission of promoting the arts as well as celebrating William Shakespeare’s legacy in St. Louis. Since its founding in 2001, the organization has put out a Shakespeare production every year in the summer. In 2014, the group performed Henry IV. The productions are usually held in the summer, and the group also puts out ‘Shakespeare in the Streets’ in the Fall, as well as Shake 38 in the Spring. Summer opportunities in theater are also offered to kids aged 6-19. The theater is actually located in Forest Park, at a place called Shakespeare Glen near ‘art hill’. While making its money from donations, the Shakespeare Festival is considered to be the only free professional theater in the St. Louis area.

Where is the cake now?: The cake stayed outside the building throughout 2015 and 2016. It was reported by a caker that it was ‘given away’ and probably on private property.  (February 2018)
