Daniel Boone was born in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1742. He later settled in North Carolina and hunted for a living, then he moved west where he helped organize the state of Kentucky. In 1799, Boone and his family moved to Missouri, or at the time, Upper Louisiana. His son, Nathan, built the home from 1803 to 1810, while Daniel hand-carved five of the fireplaces. The four-story Gregorian style home was built to overlook the Femme Osage valley. It now sits as part of Boonefield Village. Defiance is an un-incorporated community.
Cake placement date: February 24
Where is the cake now?: It had been reported that the cake (along with Lindenwood University’s cake) are in storage together.
