The Grove is an up-and-coming business district, located not far from Forest and Tower Grove Parks. It is a thriving center for the LGBT, artist and cycling communities. Several restaurants, shops and art are found at The Grove. Notable places include Atomic Cowboy, HandleBar and the Gramaphone. Sweetie Pie’s, as featured on Oprah Winfrey’s cable network, is also located here. Grovefest has been held here in October every year since 2006.

Notes: The cake was originally placed at the LGBT Center of St. Louis, which was located on Manchester. It opened in 1975 as a secular offshoot of the Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis. The center closed during the summer of 2014. The cake was featured at Pridefest, and then it was moved to the corner of Manchester and Sarah on July 4, 2014. The LGBT Center, as of January 2015, is in the process of opening a future location.

Where is the cake now?: The cake was removed (June 2015?) and it is now in the possession of the Vital Voice, which is St. Louis’ LGBT-themed magazine.
