At 2,145 acres, Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park is the largest park in St. Louis County. The lake is the largest natural one of its kind in Missouri. The area was originally used as a private resort facility and for boating and rowing competitions (notably during the 1904 Summer Olympics). In 1945, the park was one of the first dedicated by the St. Louis County Parks system. Park includes picnic areas, as well as places for archery and other activities, plus a walking trail surrounding the lake. The cake was located at the Sailboat Cove part of the area.
