Trolley tour = success

A number of cake-hunters, enthusiasts and even two of the artists(!) climbed aboard the trolley into downtown St. Louis and the Soulard neighborhood on Saturday, December 13th. Your author, Jason, took part and I must say it was definitely fun! I’m sure everyone enjoyed a real ‘cake tour’ of the near 20 locations placed in those areas. Danette Sumerford and Bobbie Petot were the tour guides throughout the tour, as well as our bus driver (who told a great Stan Musial story)!

We all met at Soulard Art Market and by 1pm, we were off! The first stop was at The Sweet Divine, where we enjoyed photo-ops and enjoyed mini cupcakes. After that, we headed straight into downtown St. Louis and enjoyed the sights of several downtown places, including Kiener Plaza and Christ Church Cathedral (where we did photo ops with its artists, Rich Brooks and Mark Swain, respectively). Following the downtown area was the Anheuser-Busch brewery where we enjoyed walking around and getting a picture with one of the Clydesdales! We soon snacked on pretzels while stopping at Gus’ Pretzels. This was where we did another group pose holding the ‘Shoulda Been a Cake’ sign! Then it was back to Soulard Art Market where we all enjoyed a social gathering and food! Plus we got to look at everyone’s cake photography as well!

Several people who were on the trolley posted several pics on social media. Here’s some great photos:
