There is a new repainted cake in the works! This one is about life for Native Americans before the founding of St. Louis in 1764. Multi-cake artist Mark Swain has been very busy painting the fiberglass cake lately, and he was able to show some of the progress so far on Facebook. Swain, who is Native American by blood, showed proudly his heritage:
We will announce shortly where this will be on display. This was the First Missouri State Capitol cake, which was originally painted by Lindsey Harmon. It was purchased by the Cakelovers on 1/1/2015 and it was mostly on display in Maplewood from that time. It has suffered much wear and tear, and it was decided to be repainted over.
