If you’re driving on Big Bend in Webster Groves and pass by a mysterious cake you’ve probably never seen before, its likely to be the one sitting in front of the Novel Neighbor bookstore. That cake was newly repainted into a cake specifically for the Novel Neighbor, which purchased the former Six Flags cake. It was to celebrate one year of being in business. It was painted by local artists Karen Rasure and Peggy Door.

To whom it may concern, a message from Francine: “We were gifted this cake from Six Flags earlier this year, as long as we were to continue keeping the cakes in public view. That was the understanding. Some cakes were gifted to the group and some cakes were purchased by me. All for the purpose of keeping them on display publicly. This particular one was repainted.  The cake will continue to be on view however with different art. We tried to track down and contact the original artist, Don Strohmeier, but no success.

The sale of this cake is going to support the projects we are in the process of creating: a documentary and book”.
