As reported before, the Clayton Century Foundation held an auction, putting two of the city of Clayton’s cakes up for bids throughout the month of February. The money that was raised was to go towards advancing the city of Clayton. The Shaw Park and Historic Hanley House cakes sold, and are now on private property. It is unknown for how much they were sold.
The St. Joseph’s Academy cake was sold at a fundraising auction event that was held last weekend at the place. The highest bidder paid $3000, which is now the highest known price ever paid for a cake! The cake is no longer where it once sat (in the grassy area not far from the sign on Lindbergh). It is unknown if they donated the cake back or if they moved it to private or public property.
